Yoo-jung has been in love with Do-hoon for 7 years. One day, during a downpour, Dohoon drives a car with broken wipers and hits someone while trying to avoid a car that has cut in. Min-hyuk is forced by his parents to marry Se-yeon, the daughter of a congressman. Yoo Jung proposes to her lover Do Hoon, who is about to be appointed as a prosecutor.

Unaware that Do-hoon hit anyone, Yoo-jung is happy about the proposal. Min-hyuk is furious when Do-hoon's car kills his old girlfriend Ji-hee. Yoo-jung becomes a suspect in a hit-and-run accident. Yoo-jung is named as a suspect in a hit-and-run case, and Do-hoon is assigned as the person in charge of the case. The evidence is all directed at Yoo-jung like a lie, and Yoo-jung is forced to investigate for Do-hoon's future.

Yoo-jung hopes that Do-hoon will reveal her innocence during the investigation. Yoo-jung's father, who belatedly finds out all the facts, goes to Ji-hee's mother to ask for forgiveness in order to settle the matter. However, under pressure from Min-hyuk and the deputy prosecutor, Do-hoon pleads guilty to five years in prison. Yoo-jung belatedly finds out that she is pregnant.

The guards notice wounds on the baby's body and separate the baby from Yoo-jung. She is put in solitary confinement. Do-hoon tries to help Yoo-jung and is recruited by Min-hyuk to review Yoo-jung's parole.

After being released from prison Yoo-jung attempts to get a job but because she is an ex-convict it's not easy. Yoo-jung searches for her child, but is shocked to see the child's death certificate. Min-hyuk follows Yoo-jung everywhere after her release. His desire to get revenge on Yoo-jung makes Se-yeon feels uneasy about him.

Yoo-jung uses Min-hyuk's ring as collateral to pay for Woo-Cheol's surgery, and Se-yeon declares her divorce from Min-hyuk. Yoo-jung uses Min-hyuk's money to pay for the surgery, but Woo-Cheol disappears from the hospital, so she searches for him.

Yoo-jung's struggle to make a living. Do-hoon, who quit as a prosecutor and joined K Group's legal department, becomes increasingly obsessed with money and power. Se-yeon approaches Do-hoon.

Worried that Min-hyuk is investigating the car accident, Do-hoon tries to destroy the investigation records and evidence. Min-hyuk realizes that Do-hoon and Yoo-jung were together the night of the accident. Min-Hyeok brings Yoo-Jung to a party, Se-Yeon can't stand it and at a board meeting votes in favor of firing Min-Hyeok.

Min-hyuk is fired as president, leaving him in a difficult position. In his place, Do-hoon takes over temporarily. Do-hoon reveals Min-hyuk's secret to Jae-ha and opens up to Se-yeon. Min-Hyeok searches for Yoo-Jung.

Yoo-jung is blackmailed by Min-hyuk into working at his house. Do-hoon blames everything on Yoo-jung and Min-hyuk tries to find evidence of Do-hoon's crimes. Yoo-jung gets a clue about Woo-chul's death.

Yoo-jung is furious with Do-hoon for his coldness and Yoo-jung asks Min-hyuk to help her. With K Group's stock price fluctuating depending on the health of the chairman, Se-yeon and Do-hoon plot to take everything from Min-hyuk. Min-hyuk's position as heir is in jeopardy.

On the day of the wedding photo shoot, Min-hyuk doesn't show up. Yoo-jung and Min-hyuk gradually open up to each other. Se-yeon realizes that Min-hyuk and Yoo-jung are connected. Min-hyuk is furious when he sees the recovered dashcam footage, and Do-hoon becomes more brazen in his confrontation.

Min-hyuk confirms his feelings for Yoo-jung. Do-hoon treats Yoo-jung coldly.

Yoo-jung and Min-hyuk confirm their feelings for each other. Se-yeon realizes that Min-hyuk's heart is for Yoo-jung and confesses her feelings to him. Min-Hyeok realizes that Se-Yeon and Do-Hoon were the ones who set things up all along.

Min-hyuk tells Yoo-jung to trust him. When Min-hyuk and Yoo-jung are not swayed by the threat of the secret data, Do-hoon betrays the K Group and distributes the secret data. Min-hyuk and Yoo-jung go on a farewell trip.
S1 • E16
When Yoo-jung realizes her son is alive, she is heartbroken and tries to find him. Se-yeon breaks off her marriage contract with Min-hyuk, and Min-hyuk gives up his management rights. Yoo-jung reconnects with Min-hyuk and they start dating.
