In the late 22nd century, Jovian attack the Earth, but Nergal Heavy builds it's own battleship called the Nadesico. Yurika Misumaru, a ditsy but brilliant young woman, is it's captain. How will the Nadesico do against it's first battle?

Uneasy about the idea of a powerful battleship being in the hands of civilians, the United Earth military sends Admiral Misumaru's fleet to take control of the Nadesico.

The Nadesico heads to Mars, but in order to get there, it has to pass through the Earth's various lines of defense, including the Big Barrier. Can the Nadesico convince the United Earth forces to take down the barrier, or will they force their way through?

The Nadesico heads out to the Satsuki Midori space colony to pick up some new zero-G Aestivalis frames and pilots.

On the long and boring trip to Mars, Prospector insists that Yurika take the time to perform funerals for all those who have been killed. The never-ending task leaves her no time to see Akito or to resolve her feelings towards him.

The Nadesico finally arrives at Mars only to have to fend off an enemy attack. Several members of the crew, including Akito, head out to explore the ruins.

Inez directs Yurika and Ruri in a children's show explaining the workings of the Nadesico. Akito learns of the Admiral's past on Mars. A mission to rescue the starship Crocus may save the Nadesico but at a steep price.

The Nadesico successfully returns to Earth only to find themselves right in the middle of a major battle. Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Akito's paralyzing fear has returned, making him a vulnerable target for the Jovians.

Admiral Munetake sends the Nadesico to rescue a goodwill ambassador stranded on an inhospitable island. Meanwhile, Megumi decides to use her free time to get closer to Akito in a virtual-reality simulation. But will Akito's childhood memories of Yurika distract him enough to spoil all of Megumi's efforts?

The crew of the Nadesico enjoy a day at the beach soaking up the sun and eating bad ramen. Akito falls under the spell of the alluring Aqua. Meanwhile, a Jovian chulip has landed on the island.

The Nadesico is grounded by a formidable new Jovian weapon: the Walking Stick, a cannon that creates black holes. Akito and his comrades fend off a barrage from a battalion of old-school tanks. Meanwhile, the crew gets funky new uniforms.

When the Nadesico's defense system malfunctions, Admiral Munetake decides that the ship's memory banks should be completely wiped.

Christmas may be near at hand, but it's not going to be a happy holiday for the crew of the Nadesico. The UEAF doesn't want such a powerful warship under the command of civilians and is giving the crew a choice: Join the military or get off the ship. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Erina offers Akito a job assisting in her organic boson-jumping research. But is being her pawn worth the risk, or should he forget about the offer and spend a quiet holiday with Megumi?

In a reversal of perspective, the Gekigangar crew settle down to watch the latest adventures of their favorite show: Martian Successor Nadesico!

While Akito is trapped on the moon, Admiral Munetake suspects that the pilot of the Jovian robot they recovered may be hiding somewhere on the ship.

The revelation of the true nature of the Jovians has shaken some of the Nergal employees. Could spies in their midst already know about their secret plans? Meanwhile, Tsukumo takes Megumi and Minato to a Jovian starship. Surprises abound for the entire Nadesico crew as they learn the truth about their enemy.

Ruri discovers that she's the biological daughter of the king and queen of a kingdom called Peaceland. With Akito acting as her "knight", Ruri sets off to Peaceland in the hope of filling in the gaps in her memory.

Nergal decides that to keep the Nadesico crew happy, they'll give them a new captain! What better way to pick one than to hold a talent contest?

When faced with a Jovian attack, Captain Yurika employs a strategy from submarine warfare, running silent and eluding enemy scanners, patiently awaiting the perfect moment to strike.

The Nadesico's new mission is to defend the moon using its new phase-transition cannon, but when something goes wrong with the Y Unit, the weapon becomes inoperable.

The Jovian Tsukumo's 13-year-old sister Yukina travels to the Nadesico presumably as a peace envoy but really on a suicide mission to murder Minato, her brother's mad crush. Meanwhile, the mask slips and Nergal reveals its sinister face.

The erstwhile captain and crew of the Nadesico have scattered and are under Nergal surveillance or in hiding, returning to their former mundane lives. But from a secret location, Ruri-Ruri issues a clarion call: Nadesico Assemble.

When Tsukumo arrives on board to act as an ambassador, Yurika organizes a ship-wide "Geki-Fest."

As the Jovians gear up for a final offensive, the Nadesico crew finds themself working alongside their sister ship, the Kakitsubata, to maintain control over Mars.

With the Jovian fleet closing in, it's up to the Nadesico to keep the ancient Martian ruins out of enemy hands. Unfortunately, it's beginning to look like the only way they're going to be able to do that is to destroy them!
