45 y.o. TV Producer Chiaki moves in next door to Shimpei, who runs a cafe, his widower brother Wahei and sisters Noriko and Mariko who all live together with Wahei's daughter Erina. Shimpei is sweet on Chiaki. She fights with Wahei.
S1 • E2
Mariko shuts herself up in her room. Shimpei asks Chiaki to take a crack at talking to her. Chiaki tells how her last relationship ended. Wahei and Chiaki reflect on whether they have a chance to love again. Shimpei cooks for Chiaki.
S1 • E3
Chiaki sleeps with Shimpei. Mariko signed up for a dating site using Chiaki's photo, only to have Noriko's husband message her. Wahei is offered intros to both a young woman from work and her mother as possible brides.
S1 • E4
Mariko tells Chiaki that the other woman is an old classmate of Shimpei's. Wahei goes to coffee with the mother, making the daughter (his staff) jealous. Wahei agrees to take Chiaki to a restaurant. Noriko confronts her husband.
S1 • E5
Chiaki's two friends from Tokyo come to Kamakura, and meet Wahei and Tomomi who run a tour. A reservation fell through, so they bring everyone to Shimpei's bar. Chiaki and Tomomi help him serve all these customers.
S1 • E6
Chiaki gets Wahei to take her to the restaurant. Shimpei sees the two of them, feels jealous, and realizes he has feelings for Chiaki. He asks her to be his girlfriend, but then sets out for one last trip with his classmate.
S1 • E7
Noriko gets excited when the young guy she met on the internet invites her to a hotel. Chiaki urges Wahei to get to know Tomomi and Hideko better. Chiaki and Shimpei begin dating for real.
S1 • E8
Mariko has a strange dream. Tomomi and Hideko show up at the Nagakura cafe for supper. Chiaki and Noriko decide to eat there too. Wahei and Chiaki spar back and forth while all the others can barely get a word in.
S1 • E9
Chiaki first thinks that Wahei was the one who kissed her while they were drunk. He feels terribly embarrassed. Chiaki hires Mariko to work at the TV studio. At night, Noriko seems upset, so Chiaki invites her and Wahei to come in.
S1 • E10
Wahei, Shimpei, Mariko and Noriko hold a surprise birthday party for Chiaki. Hideko tells Wahei she has found someone, saying he is now free to spend more time with Tomomi. Shimpei keeps bumping into Tomomi alone the neighborhood.
S1 • E11
Wahei and Chiaki see Shimpei and Tomomi play a young couple in Chiaki's drama, decide to break things off with them. Wahei and Chiaki tell each other they are single. Chiaki resolves to live alone, but her ties to the Nagakuras run deep.
