Veterinarian Judson McKay, who has been drafted into the army, arrives in Paris and finds himself under the command of Col. Barker, a career army officer who doesn't like draftees.

McKay, needing a dispensary for his animal patients, goes to Gen. Steele for help. Steele gives him permission to use a spare room, but McKay finds out that Col. Barker has secretly converted that particularly room into a nice little suite for his own personal use.

Col. Barker, still upset that he had to give up his private room to McKay to use as a dispensary for his animals, comes up with what he thinks is a foolproof plan to get rid of McKay once and for all.

Gen. Steele's pretty secretary has two soldiers vying for her affections--McKay and Col. Barker. Barker uses his authority to put McKay on night duty, which he thinks will give him the advantage in pursuing the secretary.

Gen. Steele is planning a party to celebrate his 25th anniversary in the army. He invites Col. Barker to attend, but Barker has a "hot date" and instead sends Madame Fatime to keep the general occupied.

Dr. McKay has the idea of holding a dog show to benefit the Army relief fund but Col. Barker turns him down. General Steele hears of the suggestion and gives his OK leading to an chaotic day.

General Steele think the enlisted men need to know more history so he starts a class. An instructor is needed and it's decided that Dr. McKay would be an excellent teacher but Jud's ideas prove interesting.

The colonel is aggravated by Miss Yossarian's lackadaisical work attitude. When she's fired after a lengthy coffee break McKay and the men try to convince Barker to rehire the secretary.

Lefkowitz brings Colonel Barker's boots to a local man to be repaired. But when the shoemaker bungles the job Lefkowitz takes a poke at him. It's up to Dr. McKay to save his friend'smmilitary career.

Amos Doolittle from the Inspector General's office arrives for a visit. He's ready to report on General Steele's carefree way of running the camp. McKay attempts to fix the situation ahd keep Steele out of trouble.

Hilda is an attractive woman who is very good at her job. But Colonel Barker refuses to recognizes her talents because of her looks. Dr. McKay is determined to change the way the Colonel thinks.

Colonel Barker wants to open a nightclub but ary rules forbid such endeavors. The colonel, with reluctance, enlists Judson McKay's assistance in getting around the regulations.

Dr. McKay has a mouse with a broken leg and he decides to fix it. While in recovery the rodent gets loose and causes chaos in the offices. McKay leads the effort to catch the little fellow before extermination occurs.

Captain Roger Andrews is full of self pity after becoming blind and his anger makes him difficult to be around. Dr. McKay looks for assistance and finds it in Pat, Steele's secretary. Andrews around Pat improves his attitude.

Senator Agajanian is touring the base and announces he wishes to see a court martial. Colonel Barker works to arrange it while Judson McKay fights against it, considering it unfair to the enlisted man.

Al Allen brings his performing pooch Rollo to Dr. McKay as the the animal is lethargic. Allen wants the dog returned to his energetic ways as Rollo has a film with Brigitte Bardot so Judson must figure ot what's wrong

Judson McKay thinks the milk the base uses is a health risk and condemns the latest shipment. The leaves Col. Barker with nothing to put on his cereal plus the dairy supplier sues the Army putting Dr. McKay in a legal dilemma.

S1 • E18
Lorenzo Johnson seems to be on a constant bender since leaving the army and his friends are worried. Colonel Barker and Wozniak take the lead in getting the veterinarian sober and productive again.
