Vico Hasenpfot (Vico Torriani) is the hockey star of HC St. Moritz. As a pilot, he becomes bobsleigh world champion, shines as a slalom star in Cortina d'Ampezzo, and excels at ski-joring in Arosa. He always wears the number 7 - and always has a different name. As the youngest scion of a millionaire hotelier dynasty, he wants to remain incognito. His biggest admirer, multimillionaire Ellinor Patton (Fita Benkhoff), is all the more astonished when he unexpectedly appears at her hotel table as a waiter. Vico is supposed to learn the trade from the ground up. But the moody American woman makes his life difficult. However, the beautiful flower seller Blanche (Ina Halley) knows how to comfort him. After work, he sings to her at a special Mantovani concert and reveals his heart to her. Not only Blanche, but also the orchestra conductor is amazed. He wants to hire Vico immediately. But none of this fits into the career plans of hotel manager Jean Hasenpfot. He transfers Blanche to Rome and instructs the managing director Léaux (Rudolf Vogel) to offer the agent Peer Saldo (Wolfgang Wahl) double commission if he does not hire waiter number 7 for Mantovani. It seems that the entire high-class world of high finance has conspired against Vico Hasenpfot. But the singing waiter with the melodious heart shows everyone that you can't treat a determined person like that.
