After recording the voice-over for a familiar story, voice actress Shi Yi hurries to catch a flight. While in security she hears a familiar name and, despite her quiet nature, rushes to try to meet that person. They exchange e-mails.

Shi Yi tours around Xi'an and catches the eye of Lawyer Mei Xing. Zhousheng Chen reluctantly deals with complicated family relationships.

Episode #1.3

Mei Xing is curious about the woman who has caught Chen's eye. Qin Wan, matriarch of the Zhou clan, tries to introduce Chen to a suitable wife but he is reluctant. His cousin, Ren, comes to the rescue. Shi Yi's family travels to Zhenjiang.

After the impulsive engagement, Chen gets a cellphone so he can stay in touch with Shi Yi. Chen visits her family but the return visit isn't as successful.

Zhou WenChuan tries to stir up trouble between Chen and Shi Yi while in Bremen. Trouble at the lab delays his return and other events make Chen worry for her safety.

Mei Xing warns Zhou WenChuan, stating clearly where his loyalties lie. Du Feng investigates the Zhou family but is also falling for Xiao Yu. Ren becomes very protective of Shi Yi.
