Flagg, Kirby and Sinclair are bushwhacked in the middle of the scrub lands by a desperadoes, then their horses taken by indians. Sergeant Sinclair is the least injured, and goes on a long, grueling trek across the badlands, fighting off more indians and finally catching up to the gang.

When Kirby returns to his hometown he finds it taken over by a strongman and his thugs. Kirby whips the thugs so the strongman brings in a hired gun.

The Rough Riders look for the murderers of some settlers. Their search takes them to a nearby town.

Kirby's horse steps in a hole and he is left walking. His friends leave him to try to buy him another horse. Kirby flags a passing stage. The stage is taken over by the Kane Gang who plan to hold a famous opera singer, for ransom.

A Marshall is killed trying to bring in a woman who can prevent an innocent man from being hanged. Before he dies the Marshall gives Kirby his badge and asks him to take her in.

The Rough Riders come to the aid of a young woman who is being threatened by the Association who are willing to murder her to get her horses.

Flag, Kirby, and Sinclair meet an ex-Confederate colonel and his renegade band who plan to loot and pillage the surrounding area.
