At dawn on 25 April, 1915, four mates land with the Anzac troops at Gallipoli and find themselves in a chaotic and heroic battle for the Turkish heights.

After a month of heavy fighting, the Anzac and Turkish soldiers meet in No Man's Land during a cease fire to bury their dead. Tolly risks his life by charging a machine gun nest to protect his brother.

Tolly is promoted ahead of his older brother, but disaster strikes when their platoon launches a surprise midnight attack.

Tolly recovers from his injuries in Cairo, and reluctantly returns to the front line at Gallipoli.

100,000 troops on five fronts in a series of attacks attempt to breakout of the stalemate with catastrophic results.

S1 • E6
The aftermath of the failed breakout is felt and General Hamilton requests more troops while many of his officers dissent. Bartlett sends a letter to the British Prime Minister via the Australian reporter Murdoch.

S1 • E7
The truth has reached London and Lord Kitchener arrives to tour the trenches. The Anzacs suffer further as winter sets in and finally orders to evacuate are received.
