Two ex G.I.s, Denny and Steve, return home and take a room at the boarding-house of doting Amy Morgan. Also in the house are young, beautiful Cathy, and Amy's irascible, penny-pinching chiseler brother Earl. The series follows the exploits of "the boys" as they try to get rich quickly and meet the girls of their dreams while working as vacuum-cleaner salesmen.

Denny and Steve wake up early and head down to Daniel's Department Store to apply for jobs. They are hired and go to work as salesman in the sporting goods section. There sales quota for the day $200.00 each...if they can't make it they're fired. It looks bad for the boys until Earl shows up and lets Denny know Amy has a charge account with the store.
