Sam and Rebecca Hickey are leading an idyllic life in their custom-built house in the West Country, but their paradise is shattered one night when two teenagers break into their home. In a paranoid rage, Sam kills one of the intruders, and the couple stage the scene to make it look like self-defense.

Angela is determined to play games with Sam, using what she knows about the death of Syed as leverage. Bailey starts to pursue her suspicions surrounding the case, but finds only a series of dead-ends. Meanwhile, Rebecca is approached by an old acquaintance who may become a very dangerous enemy.

Bailey makes a breakthrough, but then hits a wall.

Rebecca and Sam make an escape plan in case the police really track them down. Bailey is close to finding the 'smoking gun'. But there is no help from her bosses, so she has to face the evil all by herself.
