In the city of San Andrés, the Ramírez Inzunza and Valdés Rivero families simultaneously celebrate the baptism of their children, Alejandro and Alfonsina. The rivalry between the two clans will also reveal the dark secrets that unite them.

Father Juan expels Justo and Francisca from the church, although he defends himself by telling the priest that she set a trap for him. After the sermon, Justo goes to his father to find out the price of his silence.
