New Year's Eve in Madrid, Ana's 30th birthday. She works as a waitress and is still searching for her place in the world. After midnight she meets Óscar, a doctor, seemingly more settled than her. It's a magic encounter of shared wishes.

2016

One year later: Óscar is back together with his ex Vero, Ana got an attractive job offer and a boyfriend. But the chemistry between Ana and Óscar is still there. When Vero learns of their fling last year a smoldering conflict escalates.

2017

For Ana and Óscar their birthdays mean partying and passion. They survive smashed car windows, Óscar even has to provide first aid in an emergency. But they manage to turn their bad luck into a positive next step in their relationship.

2018

Ana and Óscar are living together and celebrate with their families. But childhood reminiscences stir up old conflicts. Ana receives a job offer in Edinburgh. Although she doesn't want to leave Óscar, the decision weighs heavily on her.

2019

Óscar surprises Ana with a trip to Berlin. He longs for togetherness, she'd rather meet her college friends. Again the question arises as to who should give up more for the sake of the relationship. A breach of trust adds to the strain.

2020

During the Covid crisis Óscar spends his birthday in the hospital treating patients. He is separated from Ana and celebrates with his friends. While helping a distressed teenager Óscar realizes how much he still cares for Ana.

2021

Ana has moved to Lyon and lives with her new partner, Manu. With a friend she runs a catering company. Her family come to visit after her father has died. Though Ana works a lot she feels that something essential is missing in her life.

2022

Ana, now mother of baby Pablo, is in Madrid to visit her family. There she meets Óscar - they don't reconcile but soon start to argue again. Ana struggles with her role as a mother and suffers from her tense relationship with Manu.

S1 • E9

2023

Both living in Madrid again, Ana and Óscar are on friendly terms. She runs her own restaurant. They visit their friend Guille in a rehab clinic. Óscar confesses to Ana his doubts and fears. But hopeful Ana is contagiously optimistic.

S1 • E10

2024

While Ana is still living with Manu she has an affair with Óscar. They secretly meet in a hotel room and reevaluate their missed opportunities. He mourns their past and Ana wonders why they ended their relationship in the first place.
