The elves are looking for a human who can help them against the cruel Iselin. Lyda is the only one who believes that Malte can help them.

Rune wants revenge on Viji, who is the only one who dares to defend Malte. Hard pressed, Malte promises to help them lure Viji into a trap.

Malte, Lyda and Gibbus have the Pact, and want to dissolve Iselin and unfreeze Fabio and Saia. But Lyda and Malte fail, and Iselin manages to escape.

Lyda knows it takes time to freeze the Pact, but Iselin has started the freeze that will destroy the Pact forever.

The magic map tells where the Pact is, but Rune is the only one who can get close to the Pact, and he refuses to help Malte and Lyda.
