The staff at Hui Tou Lu celebrate Wen Xin's birthday together. Yet, You Yi finds out that his son, Zi Cheng, has stolen money to pay off his gambling debts. On the other hand, Zhen Bang finally leaves the prison after seven years.

Two years later, Zhenbang can finally remove the electronic monitoring tag on his ankle. He meets Buffett, who brings him to Hui Tou Lu. Zhen Bang requests for a job, but Zi Cheng rejects him. All the staff at Hui Tou Lu are ex-convicts.

As Tian Yong is injured, You Yi invites Zhen Bang to replace him at Hui Tou Lu. However, Zhen Bang is afraid to use a knife. You Yi does not force him, and Zhen Bang is moved by You Yi's vision for the restaurant.

Zhen Bang rescues Yada, but indirectly reveals that he is on psychiatric medication. Zi Cheng fails to deceive Zhen Bang into investing but refuses to cheat Wen Xin. Zhen Bang and Buffett discover the unconscious Tian Yong.

Zhen Bang finds out that Buffett suffers from sleepwalking. At work, he is tasked to deal with a difficult customer, but ends up getting praised for his dedication. Zi Cheng is injured by Han and Ah Lun when he asks for his money back.

Zhen Bang protects Buffett from harm when she sleepwalks. Zi Cheng extorts Han and Ah Lun using a video while You Yi decides to pass on his culinary skills to the rest and reconciles with Zi Cheng. Zi Cheng sends the video to Wen Xin.

Zi Cheng blames Zhen Bang for You Yi's death. At the funeral, Zhen Bang meets his father, Ah Hei. Buffett tells Zhen Bang to move back after realizing that he was scammed. Zi Cheng takes over, but his mismanagement results in a decline.

Zi Cheng confesses his love to Wen Xin but is haunted by nightmares as he has a guilty conscience. Zi Cheng exploits Tian Yong's amputation for publicity, to the latter's dismay. Meanwhile, Zhen Bang comforts Buffett when she sleepwalks.

Zi Cheng frames Zhen Bang. Buffett anxiously awaits Zhen Bang's release, and the latter is soon cleared of suspicion. Zi Cheng denies Zhen Bang's accusations, but burns the clothes that he wore at the crime scene.

Zhen Bang and Buffett enjoy a hotpot at home on New Year's Eve. Zi Cheng asks Buffett to rig a lucky draw that he organized but the plan fails. Zhen Bang uses his own money to maintain Hui Tou Lu's reputation but Zi Cheng feels humiliated.

Buffett admits the truth about Kelly's suicide to Zhen Bang and later to Uncle Rong. Infuriated, Ah Rong chases her out. Zhen Bang comforts Buffett to move on. He also suggests that she should live for herself and participate in Muay Thai.

Zhen Bang brings a knife out, but thankfully holds back when he confronts Leo. Zi Cheng is sentenced to prison but applies for a delayed sentence. Zhen Bang and the others decide to take over Hui Tou Lu together.

Business fails to improve. Zhen Bang overcomes his fear of knives and improves on the soup base with Buffett's help. Zhen Bang encourages Buffett to improve on her physique, who then trains for a Muay Thai match with Tian Yong's guidance.
Episode 14
S1 • E14
Using the hours Zhen Bang owed Buffett as stakes, the two of them compete against each other. Zhen Bang wins but Buffett is upset as she misunderstands his intentions. Zhen Bang's father Ah Hei is caught for molesting.
Episode 15

Buffett is shocked by Zhen Bang's past, but also sympathetic and understanding of his condition. Ah Hei regains consciousness and decides to remain in contact with Zhen Bang despite Meng Ting's objection.

Zhen Bang rescues Meng Ting from danger, and they finally reconcile. However, Zhen Bang's absence during Buffett's Muay Thai competition made the latter distracted. Guilt-ridden, Zhen Bang prepares a meal to coax Buffett.

Zhen Bang runs the restaurant single-handedly and invites a low-income family to dine in for free. He turns down influencer Bubu's offer to reserve the entire eatery, but his kind intentions moved Bubu, who praises Hui Tou Lu online.
Episode 18

Zhen Bang rejects Buffett and moves out. Zhen Bang speaks up for Meng Ting before Luo Jie's parents, who finally accept Meng Ting. Fallen out of love, Buffett becomes motivated to work hard. She later finds out that she hurt Zhen Bang.
Episode 19

Zi Cheng apologizes. Zhen Bang invites Zi Cheng to return and convinces everyone to give him a second chance. Tian Yong's attempt to donate his kidney moved Alex, who gives them his blessing. Meanwhile, Yada learns that Mei Lin is smitten.
Episode 20
S1 • E20
A video of Buffett reusing the soup base goes viral. News of Zhen Bang murdering his brother also resurfaces, and consumers begin to boycott Hui Tou Lu. Buffett decides to take the blame for the collective good.
