A forgetful Ranjeet frustrates his wife Renu and brother-in-law Raja as he can't remember their anniversary. Raja's divorce idea leads to a legal notice, leaving Ranjeet's next move uncertain.

Renu warns Ranjit that their Sofa cum bed should arrive before their special guest does. It does arrive on time but there's a lot of confusion around whose sofa it actually is.

Ranjit and Renu's South Indian neighbors, the Venkats, ask them for help when a conservative South Indian family arrives with a marriage proposal for their daughter, Kavitha.

As the marriage proposal doesn't work out for the groom, his brother Ravikanth arrives in order to get married in his lieu. On the other side, Kavitha's sister Savitha arrives.

Renu is jealous when Ranjit talks about the various salesgirls that come to his office. Renu becomes a salesgirl and goes to Ranjit's office to get his company to open an account with her bank. Vinod sees this as an opportunity to woo Renu

Renu's friend, Sheela, comes back from a foreign country to meet her. Ranjit tries to show that he has a "hold" on his wife, which has comical consequences.

Ranjit invites Mrs and Mr Keswani for dinner. Renu says that everyone will do their own work, including cooking. Evidently inexperienced in household chores, Ranjit and Raja face many challenges.

A thief, in the disguise of a salesgirl, tries to blackmail Ranjit along with the help of Banke.

The whole neighborhood is scared as there's a fear of robberies in their area. All of them try to be extra cautious.

Raja is scared as the police has publicly announced that he's the only one who knows the identity of the thief.

Ranjit goes to pick up his health report and accidentally gets a cancer patient's report. He is given 5 days to live.

Renu's neighbour, Kavita is pregnant and she frequently visits Renu to discuss the same. Ranjit overhears their conversation and thinks Renu is pregnant. He begins to take extra care of her. The confusion prolongs when Ranjit talks about 'the newcomer' and Renu thinks he is referring to the new puppy she wants to get.

Renu is worried that something is troubling Ranjit psychologically and so she and Raja go to a psychiatrist in order to get help for Ranjit. Meanwhile, Ranjit is preparing himself to be an ideal dad.

Renu and Ranjit bet on who can invite their boss for dinner and in turn get a promotion.

Raja falls for Mr. Bhattacharya's sister-in-law, Sharmila. She also falls for Raja. However, the sudden arrival of her ex-lover, Prashant Banerjee, complicates the situation.

Ranjit and Renu gift an antique copper mask to their friend, who happens to be a Colonel. However, the person who originally gifted them the mask comes back asking for it.

Ranjit takes a pledge to always speak the truth. He goes to his friends and acquaintances who he had lied to and tells them truth, which obviously results in problematic situations.

Renu figures out that Raja is dating two girls currently. She feels that he's cheating on them and so she and Ranjit talk to the girls' fathers.

Ranjit and Renu start fighting because of their neighbors. Raja calls both their parents to sort out the mess.

Renu wants to buy a cooking range and so she and Ranjit save money to buy one. However, their efforts become too extreme.

After Ranjit moves to another city, Renu and Raja keep a tenant in order to handle some unexpected expense. Then, their aunt arrives and insists on staying at their place, unaware of the presence of the tenant.
