Ruy lives in a town while his father is summoned by the King of Castile to go to war. Ruy stays with his mother.

Ruy, yo soy tu padre

Ruy's father returns from the war and believes that they will now be happy. But his mother falls ill and moves to another place to be cured. Also his father must go to war again and Ruy is taken to the monastery for his education.

Ruy en el monasterio

Ruy in the monastery causes mischief to the monks but at the same time discovers that some bandits are trying to assault and rob the monastery.

Un asno en la capilla

On a stormy night, Ruy takes refuge with his donkey Peka in the monastery chapel, to the fright of the monks. At the same time, there are rumors of Moorish bandits.

El encierro de Ruy

Ruy is punished in the tower of the monastery due to his antics but tries to escape by lowering himself, at the risk of his life.

Ruy, el jefe de la pandilla

Ruy is expelled from the convent for his mischief and sent with relatives. There he meets his cousin Alvar, who will become inseparable from him.

El torreón del gigante

Ruy and his cousin Albar decide to explore a gloomy ruin called el Torreon del Gigante ("Giant's Tower") which local legends say that inside it roams a spooky ghost. But instead of a ghost they find Jimena, daughter of Count Lozano, who is also exploring the tower. What else will they find inside the old tower? Maybe something more terrifying than a ghost.

El vuelo de Ruy

Ruy and Alvar visit the castle of Jimena's father and there, playing with a banner, they take flight throughout the region.

La herradura de plata

The warden of a castle is dedicated to robbing the shepherds and peasants. Ruy finds a silver horseshoe indicating that he is the one who will liberate the castle.

Ruy y los tres vagabundos

Ruy meets three beggars In who want to steal his donkey. When Ruy finds a treasure in the cave where they spend the night, they abandon him in a well.

Duelo por un castillo

Ruy is a guest of the Count of Alcocer and has to teach fighting classes to Froilan, the Count's son who doesn't want to fight and just sleep. When some warriors try to take the castle both will have to decide what to do.

El caballero de latón

Ruy and Froilan go to Sahagún and on the way they meet a painter who teaches them what art is. Later, in a village, people are frightened by some Arab robbers and Ruy has an idea.

El rapto de Florinda

Ruy and Froilan arrive at a ruined place and at night some masked men with a bull skull begin to arrive and belong to a sect and want to kidnap a girl.

Una noche en el cementerio

In search of the thieves of their donkey, Ruy and Froilan find them in a town from which they escape to take refuge at night in a cemetery.

El loco justiciero

Chasing after the thieves, Ruy and Froilan enter a valley where a mad knight lives who believes that the thieves are them.

Ruy recupera a Peka

Ruy arrives in a deserted town where a boy tells him that the bandits who have his donkey are in the forest, but there is also a dangerous boar.

El estandarte

Ruy and Bermúdez meet a liar named Martín and who gets them into trouble when looking for a lost banner of the count of those lands.

El fantasma de Doña Berenguela

Ruy and his friends find the banner but the thieves manage to take it away. Desolate, they find a place to sleep in the house of an untrustworthy family who tell them the story of the ghost of Doña Berenguela to scare and rob them.

Un castillo para Martín

At last our friends recover the banner stolen by the pair of thieves and get the castle promised by Count Peñansurez, but it is not what Martin expected.
