Girls Can't Play Football

The story of the struggle for a national women's football team in the FRG and GDR. It portrays the forgotten achievements of the pioneering German women footballers and their fight for a place "on the pitch." A struggle full of incredible, almost absurd twists and stories that reveal a great deal about male hero stereotypes and clichéd images of women in both East and West Germany.
