Damon and Debbie is a 'soap-bubble' that follows two of Brookside's characters, teen sweethearts Damon Grant and Debbie McGrath, as they escape their disapproving parents in Liverpool who object to their relationship.

Damon and Debbie squat on a boat moored on the River Ouse in York, where Debbie hopes to go to university and Damon plans to start his own business, but the boat's owner sails away with all of their belongings, including Debbie's insulin.

S1 • E2

Episode #1.2

The couple visit Morecambe, then move to Bradford to stay with friends. Debbie secretly locates a pharmacy to obtain insulin. When Damon catches her with the medication, he wrongly concludes that she is a drug addict and storms out.

S1 • E3

Episode #1.3

Debbie's uncles continue their search for the couple, finally tracking them down after they return to York. After the couple enjoy a mock wedding, Damon is stabbed by an unknown assailant and dies in Debbie's arms on a dark riverbank.
