Big Bad World is a comedy about what happens when you wait for life to begin. Ben has just graduated and the world should be his oyster, but he quickly finds himself back in his hometown and nursing his as yet unformulated dreams. He's also back to hanging out with the same old gang; too-smart-for-her-own-good charity mugger Meg, guitar-obsessive bedsit-philosopher Eggman and University-refuser and unashamed year-round-wearer-of-shorts-and-flip-flops Oakley. If it weren't for the frequent overdraft charges, Ben might almost believe the last three years of his life never happened.

Ben returns to his home town of Great Yarmouth after university only to discover his ex-girlfriend Lucy has a new boyfriend and his parents have destroyed his bedroom.

Ben gets a job at his local pub - unfortunately it's an unpaid graduate scheme. With his new status will he be able to win back the heart of ex-girlfriend, Lucy?

The gang celebrate Oakley's birthday with a day of excursions - sadly all organised by Oakley himself. The day culminates with a paintballing skirmish - uh-oh!

Beth tries to improve her chugging performance with a bit of flirtation but finds she's playing with fire. Ben is bizarrely accused of sexual harassment by a man!

Beth's new man, Sandy, is an activist who the gang haven't taken to. Things escalate when Eggman gets a job at the new local supermarket, to Sandy's complete disgust.

To earn a bit of cash, Ben volunteers for medical testing. Meanwhile, Eggman's band, Subcontractor, have a gig that he's convinced will be their big break.

Ben finally gets a promotion at the pub - he's going to manage the monthly bring-and-buy sale. But is Great Yarmouth ready for his bohemian vision?

Beth wins Chugger of the Year and invites Ben to the awards ceremony in glittering Norwich. Unfortunately Ben finally has a shot at a date with Lucy on the same night...
