Timothy, a talent-agency go-fer, falls madly in love with a British actress who's heading back to London. His photographer brother Gene asks him to pose as a groovy hippie for a big photo assignment. A British magazine gets the pictures, thinks the model "Timmie" is a happening chick, and invites the two over to Britain. Seeing this as his perfect chance to be with his love, Timothy gladly continues the ruse.

Tim has a funeral for Timmie because they won at the casino; however, the casino closes before Greg and Tim can collect, so Timmie has to come back to life.

Timmie is sent with Julie to Paris to model the latest fashion creation from the leading designer. The dress is top secret until it's debut and they are warned to guard it with their lives. Their efforts land Timmy on the front page of the newspaper labeled as a "fashion spy."

Julie's sister, Terry, a 17-year-old psychology genius, comes to London for a visit. The busybody discovers Timmy's secret and wants to expose the scam because everyone's better off being honest. To make Terry think they've come clean, Julie and Terry borrow a slum flat and pretend to be newly unemployed and starving, yet happy, after getting fired from the photo agency.

Tim upon learning that as Timmie he gets to work with Julie, is elated. Till he learns that also working with them is Alfie Adonis a British hunk. Eventually Tim's jealous behavior drives Julie to dump him. Eventually Tim spots Alfie as he's about to do another photo shoot and attacks him. Because of what he did Adonis walks off which makes the men who hired him upset with Tim. Tim offers to fill in and when he puts on a wig and they see how much he looks like Timmie they hire him. Tim thinks he can give up being Timmie, learns that Timmie next assignment is to jump out of an airplane. Gene tells him to strap the parachute on a dummy and when the dummy falls into the sea Tim is free of Timmie. But when Gene goes to get Tim's initial payment, he learns that the men who hired Tim only want him just as long as Timmie is around. So he rushes to stop Tim from going through with the plan.

When Timmy is enrolled in a computer dating service as a publicity stunt, Tim fills out the questionnaire with bizarre answers to confound the computer. Unfortunately, it finds a perfect match.

At a publicity shoot for an East/West track meet, Timmie brags about how "she" was a great long jumper in high school. One of the West team's members faints and Timmie is recruited to fill in. After an impressive jump, the opposition team demands a sex test. Meanwhile, Timmie has to fight off the advances of the East's champion hammer thrower.
