An old friend of Derek's is brought up on child abuse charges after he is found with his son covered in bruises, but he claims otherworldly forces are to blame. Nick also reveals a darkly kept family secret of his own.

Nick discovers an anomaly having to do with a colony that disappears and re-appears seemingly every 50 years and asks to investigate further.
