Eight short monologues were written for this series in response to the 50th anniversary of the passing of the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalized homosexual acts in private between two men aged 21 or over.

1917. A soldier returned from the Great War recalls an officer with beautiful golden hair with whom he shared an idyllic afternoon; and a memory from his childhood of a prisoner on the train platform.

1994. 17-year-old Andrew travels to London for the historic moment when the government votes to potentially reduce the gay age of consent from 21. The excitement of the evening leads him to a number of new and surprising experiences.

In the 1980s a gay actor struggles with being type-cast as characters who die of AIDS. He develops a relationship with a man he meets in a cruising spot.

1967. Dapper elderly gentleman Jackie discusses his sex life as it becomes legal; he recalls with affection being a rent boy to the clergy, a night with an angelic American soldier and now being respectable and distinguished.

1941. Fredrick recalls his last three years in London, having emigrated from West India; finding a tentative place for himself in the queer and artistic circles, on the night one of his favourite venues is bombed.

The Perfect Gentleman
Bobby, an elegantly-dressed gentleman of the late 1920s, is not really a man but a Lesbian called Ellen, who discovered her sexuality as a girl but met rejection. Dressing as a man changed everything when she gained a reputation for comforting lonely wives but unfortunately she comes unstuck when a young girl falls for her, wanting sex, and her secret is exposed.

Something Borrowed
Steve nervously prepares his speech for his wedding to American partner Adam, laced with some bitterness towards past discrimination he suffered. He is full of praise for his mother, who encouraged the union, and, despite some cynicism about the institution of marriage, ends by looking forward to what lies ahead.
