A soap-operatic mini-series about the history of Hotel Sacher in Vienna. It starts with the takeover by Anna Sacher after her husband Eduard dies at age 59. Most of the time, someone high or low in society seems to be kissing (or more) in one of the chambres séparées.

Teil 1

Anna Sacher is thirty-three and widowed with three children. The famous hotel is to be sold. A woman is not allowed to run the business alone. While Anna fights for her existence, two newlywed couples, the Austrian nobles of Traunstein and the Aderholds from Berlin, are staying in her house. Their fates will soon cross each other in the most violent way. On the way home from work at the Sacher, the young cleaning girl Marie disappears without a trace.

With the surprising return of the cleaning girl Marie after years of captivity, the dazzling world of Constanze and Hans Georg von Traunstein is thrown completely out of balance. What does Marie's fate have to do with the Traunstein family? Constanze's misstep with Maximilan Aderhold brings Martha Aderhold's marriage to the brink of failure. Anna Sacher becomes the legendary patron of the Sacher. But after the murder of Empress Sisi, the times are showing signs of change.
