As the show starts off, we're introduced to the eight students who attend Hamilton High School Academy of Music. They are: Mr. Hamilton, the conductor of orchestra class, Zane the cool guitar player, Rosalind the hyper pianist and violinist, Joecelyn the funny flutist, Dennis the very serious violinist, Gala, Dennis's "girlfriend", Kevin who feels left out, and Jennifer the nice harpist.

As Concierto night looms ahead, Dennis is mad at himself for not being picked as a soloist, while Jennifer is extremely nervous that she is one (she has to play her piece without sheet music). Also, Dennis and another student feel that the orchestra isn't ready for the big night.

Zane and his brother get a gig playing at Cozy's Bar and Grill and later at the Hard Rock Cafe while Rosalind has to play the piano in front of tough judges.

The gang has to play in front of Mr. Miller to audition for re-assignments in Orchestra.

Revolves around the eight kids and what a typical day for them is life from waking up, to going to school, to going to bed

Marcus and Jennifer butt heads over what to perform at a Country Club gig, while Joceyln doesn't like her dance class or teacher.

Dennis is excited as he makes the second round for Performer of the Year and muses on why he broke up with Gala in 8th grade. During this, Felipe is in danger of not playing with mariachi because of his poor grades.

The kids arrive in California and have fun at the hotel and in San Fransisco before the actual competition begins.

The competition in San Fransisco begins and the kids have to perform their best in hopes of winning it all.
S1 • E10
The last week at Hamilton causes mixed emotions as some students are graduating and others are trying to figure out what groups to be in next year.
