The group has arrived in the Galar region, where they decide to leave the conspicuous airship behind and travel by land to the old castle Liko's grandmother Diana is supposed to be in. However, since the train is currently out of service, they decide to spend some time in Motostoke, where Liko and Roy head for the Battle Café alongside the Rising Volt Tacklers' cook, Murdock. There, they encounter Mitchell, a patissier and former colleague of Murdock's. And it seems the two have quite the history.

Liko and Roy have met Kabu, the Gym Leader of Motostoke Stadium and a native of the Hoenn region. Figuring that this means he might know something about Rayquaza, the Legendary Pokémon that's likewise from the Hoenn region, they decide to ask him about it. Kabu is so moved by their dedication he decides to train them. It's time for Kabu's fire training to begin.

The information they received from Kabu sends Liko, Roy and the others to the Galar Mine in search of the Black Rayquaza. On the way, they find an unconscious Hatenna, which Mollie diagnoses to be "suffering emotionally"; in other words, having been injured from constantly picking up emotions from nearby creatures. Unwilling to just leave her there, Liko decides to look after her on her own, but.

The Rising Volt Tacklers return to the Galar Mine in their search for the Black Rayquaza. As they search the area, Liko and Roy get separated from Friede, and continue deeper into the mine when they hear a mysterious cry. There, they find a group of people and Pokémon that have somehow completely lost their spirit and vigor. Meanwhile, Amethio and his Explorer companions also arrive at the mine in pursuit of Rayquaza.

What the group found in the Galar Mine was a Galar Fire. Liko and the others want to close in on this Galar Fire, but it's burning with anger and keeps everyone at arm's length. What is the plan they come up with that incorporates Kabu's advice?.

Liko, Roy and Friede head for Galar's ancient castle. Guided by Diana's Squawkabilly, they arrive at an old castle where Liko is finally reunited with Diana, her grandmother.

Liko, Dot and Roy have gone to Levincia for Dot's Terastallization assessment test. When she meets up with Nanjamo, she learns that the test will be live streamed on her channel which makes Dot nervous. As she does a rehearsal battle with Roy, she gets even more nervous and is unable to work well with Quaxly. That's when Nanjamo comes with the idea to do the test as Gurumin. Will Dot pass the test?

Dot and Kuwassu are finally going to take Nanjamo's assessment test. They had researched Nanjamo's battles in advance, developed a strategy and taken infallible countermeasures... or so they thought, but they still end up struggling greatly against Harabarie, who's a poor type match-up for Kuwassu. However, unnoticed by them all, a shadow draws near.

En route to Fridge Town for Roy's test, the group journeys to Mt. Napper. Overjoyed by the first snowfall, Roy and Hogator frolic with mountain Pokémon before overnighting in a cabin. Collecting firewood, the two get lost in the snow.

Liko and friends reach Fridge Town. Roy's test opponent is Lime, a Gym Leader/rapper. He must perform to battle her. Lime won't go easy on Roy despite his enthusiasm for the challenge.

Roy is in low spirits after getting told by Lime he failed her practical application test, but takes Nemo's advice to do some Hyper Training before challenging her again. While training, he tries thinking of something he can use to win when he remembers Lime asking him why he and Hogator were singing. Why did Lime ask him that...? And will Roy and Hogator be able to win their rematch?.

It's finally time for Liko's practical application test. The group has gone to the Mt. Napper Gym so she can challenge Grusha, where they drop by the "Arukujira Slide" while waiting for the test to begin. There, the operator tells them about Grusha's past... And then, Liko, Nyarote and Tebrim get attacked by Grusha, the man known as the strongest Gym Leader in the Paldea region.

Liko is feeling down after being told by Grusha she failed the practical application test... In order to cheer her up, Roy and Dot decide to take her to the summit of Mt. Napper, the highest point in the region and one of the Ten Sights of Paldea. However, Spinel from the Explorers is keeping them under surveillance.

Spinel's plan seemed to have worked and in the process of it, Liko is trapped in a cave with Amethio and unable to get out. To make things worse, Roy and Dot have been stopped by Onyx and Sango, in order to prevent their search for Liko. What was Spinel's true plan and will Liko manage to escape from the cave?

With the Terastal training over, Liko and the others have returned to Orange Academy. There, it turns out that battles between the trainees are going to be held in order to deepen their friendship. The Gym Leaders show up as well, sending the entire venue into a state of excitement. Just then, Botan contacts Dot on her Smartphone Rotom.... Apparently some sort of plan is going to be set into motion during the trainee battles?.

It's time for the trainee battles after Liko, Dot and Roy have passed the Terastallization Application Test. However, Liko and Roy have learned that their battle is with each other. Although they have trained together, they've always been helping each other out. Now, the battle that puts everything they've gained so far on the line is to start, and everyone is intrigued. Who will win, Liko or Roy?

Meanwhile, Roy and Achigator accidentally touch a machine set up at a stall, which causes them to switch bodies...?.

After hearing that Briar is at Terasu Pool, Liko and the others start climbing Oni Mountain. On the way, Kanuchan is overjoyed to spot some nice iron, and starts pounding it with its hammer. Dot is overwhelmed with emotions from seeing Kanuchan's hammer grow in size so suddenly... but then a wild Otoshidori shows up and takes Kanuchan's iron.

As Liko and the others reach Terasu Pool, they locate Briar, who becomes extremely excited when she sees the Terapagos Liko has with her!. When they ask Briar about Terapagos, she takes out the Scarlet Book and starts explaining to them how it concerns the adventures of her ancestor Heather in Area Zero of the Great Crater of Paldea.

Sazare, who Liko and the others met in the Land of Kitakami, had taken a photo; A photo of a Basagiri. After learning this photo was taken on Mt. Tengu, they join Sazare in searching for the Basagiri there. However, they all end up getting separated after an attack by wild Pokémon... Will they be able to find the Basagiri from the Six Heroes?.

Liko, Dot, Roy, Diana and Friede have met Rystal, who has been brought to the Crystal Lake by Terapagos. Rystal tells the group the story of how she, Lucius and Gibeon travelled the world towards Laqua and how they set up the Explorers. What secrets will be unveiled?

Friede tells Liko's group to meet Sohdayo, who can help find Entei. On the savanna, they're attacked by Rikikirin. Sohdayo arrives, claiming to be a journalist but is revealed as a former Rising Volt Tacklers member.

While visiting Randou's hometown Asagi City, Liko and the others meet the fishing boat rental operator Mamoru, a passionate fan of Kinjiro, a movie star of yesteryear. Mamoru tells them about his enthusiasm for the "VS Samehader" movie series Kinjiro starred in.

An eyewitness report leads the Rising Volt Tacklers to an undersea volcano, believing Entei will appear there. One night, Entei arrives challenging Liko and others to battle, likely testing them due to its connection with volcanic activity

Liko and the others return to the Paldea region in search for more information on Entei, and go see Pokémon League chairwoman Omodaka to get permission to enter Area Zero of the Great Crater of Paldea. However, the condition Omodaka sets is that they need to win a Pokémon battle against her...?. It's time for Liko, Roy and Dot VS Omodaka. How will Liko and the others take on the Top Champion?.

Liko and the others have come to Area Zero, where they accompany Briar to the place where Entei was spotted. In the meantime, Sango, who had been tailing the group, encounters an odd-looking Purin, and the two of them decide to team up to fight back against the enraged Paradox Pokémon Great Tusk after getting attacked by it?.

Liko and the others finally locate Entei in Area Zero. However, this Entei seems kind of different from normal Entei. Liko, Roy and Dot challenge it to a battle, getting help from Friede as well, but moves that should be effective against a Fire type like Entei aren't having much effect either?. But why...? And will Liko and the others manage to overcome Entei?

The Black Rayquaza once again appears before Liko, Roy and the others, and they all challenge it to a battle together in order to gain its approval. However, despite incorporating the terrain to great effect in their combo attacks, they gradually end up driven against the wall by the overwhelmingly powerful Rayquaza. Liko's wishes... Roy's desire... What's going to happen to them at the end of this fierce battle against the last member of the Six Heroes?.

Rayquaza is guiding Liko and the others towards Rakua. Meanwhile, Amethio had been going undercover at Exceed in order to look into what Spinel is plotting, but got spotted by security guards and captured. And now a certain person appears...? Amethio learns about the connection between his grandfather Gibeon and Lucius from a 100 years back... and makes a resolve.

Rayquaza guides Liko and the others to a mountain towering high into the heavens. They begin asking around for information on Rakua in Kumuri Town, a town located at the foot of the mountain, when they meet a young boy named Yuha who insists they need to get out of the town immediately. As the group soon learns, local legend has it that disaster will strike when the Black Rayquaza appears.

Liko and the others finally arrive in Rakua, which was located at the peak of Mt. Kumuri. Here, a virtual paradise spreads out before them, with rich and plentiful nature and many wild Pokémon living in peace and quiet. Deeply moved by this sight, they start searching for 100 year old traces of Lucius. But a certain Pokémon is keeping an eye on them.

In the center of Rakua, Pagogo releases the barrier it set up a 100 years ago... but then the Explorers suddenly appear, having been lying in wait for the barrier to get released so they can obtain the Rakulium.... The decisive battle in Rakua over the Rakulium now begins: Friede VS Spinel, Liko VS Onyx, Roy VS Sango and Dot VS Agate!.

As Gibeon attempts to use Zygarde to dig up the Rakulium, Amethio appears before him and tells him... Meanwhile, Liko and the others come rushing over as well, having seen the overflowing energy. But as they attempt to stop the digging, the Rakulium crystal shatters into pieces and a certain someone appears from within...?.

With the Rakulium crystal before them, Liko and the others square off against Gibeon. Thanks to Pagogo and the Six Heroes, the Rakulium finally gets successfully purified. However, after a brief moment where everyone believes things are at long last over, Spinel suddenly announces he's going to "take control of" Rakua. He then somehow manages to make the Six Heroes go berserk... Liko and the others attempt to escape as Rakua falls to the rampaging Six Heroes. What lies in wait at the end of the adventure to Rakua?.
