Elspeth and Angus MacTout are playing by Loch Ness when they find a large mound - but it is not a mound it is Silly-Ness stuck in a hole. The children come up with a plan to free him and receive two thistle whistles as reward.

A mad scientist who is obsessed with discovering the Loch Ness Monster plans to use an underwater telescope suspended from a hot air balloon to spot one. Angus and Elspeth must warn the Nessies using their thistle whistles.

Elspeth and Angus are horrified when they see a tinker has a little dog tied to his wagon forcing it to run along behind the wagon. The tinker offers to sell them the dog but they don't have enough money can the Nessies help them?

Ferocious-Ness is demonstrating his ability to change color and blend into different backgrounds to the children. However, when he changes color to bright red he gets stuck. Elspeth and Angus must find a way to help him.

When Ferocious-Ness accidentally wrecks Angus and Elspeth's entry into the Loch Ness Monster Look-a-Like contest he has to take its place. Will he be able to keep still and resist the temptation to scare everyone at the show?

When the children are struggling with their Maths homework they summon Clever-Ness to help them. He summons a whole group of Nessies to come and help. However, a holidaying couple spot them and take a snapshot.

Mr MacTout has entered a bagpipe competition at the Inverness Festival, but when he gets on the bus Angus and Elspeth see he has left his pipes behind. There is only one Nessie who can help - but it's not Sporty-Ness surely.

Ferocious-Ness jumps out into the road to scare an English lorry driver but his roar turns into a mere squeak. Angus and Elspeth must use their thistle whistles to summon help for poor Ferocious-Ness who now sounds like a mouse.

Elspeth and Angus haven't seen any of the Nessies all week, so they blow their thistle whistles - but still no sign of them. Then they find Careful-Ness in the woods covered in spots and he tells them they all have Measles.

Professor Dumkopf has made a bubble making machine that uses Mrs. McToffee's sherbert fizz, and with the assistance of Mr. McToot, gets it into action

It was a cold Winter's day, and Elspeth and Angus go out to play. When they go to the Loch, they see Ferocious Ness trapped in the ice.

Mr. McTout has just given the Royal Navy permission to test a new diving bell in Loch Ness and the Navy expedition's shortest member, Lieutenant McSquirt, is to make the descent into the Loch. Fearing for the Nessies' safety, Angus and Elspeth try to warn their friends with the Thistle Whistles, but end up summoning Hungry-Ness, who mistakes the diving bell for food and puts it in his mouth. Fortunately, McSquirt thinks he's in a cave until he punches Hungry-Ness' uvula and when the Captain claims to have seen the Loch Ness Monster, McSquirt can't confirm the sighting as a result of being too dizzy from being spat out by Hungry-Ness.

Elspeth and Angus discover a path leading to a hidden cottage. They meet a part-time witch - she's also a bus conductor. She is trying to make an invisibility spell, but is having not much luck, as she is missing an essential ingredient - a spot from the tail of the Loch Ness monster. Elspeth and Angus go and call on Ferocious-Ness, who gives them a spot from his arm. The witch tries the potion but finds that only her bottom half disappears, as the spot wasn't from the tail. She decides to give up on magic and tips her cauldron over, the liquid pouring into the loch. Thirsty-Ness appears and having drunk the water promptly disappears - well half of him anyway.
